The fastest way to reach us is by email at revenge_developer@protonmail.com. Tax Moose is built by one person, so replies aren't instant, but every message gets read and we usually get back to you within a couple of business days.

There's no contact form here on purpose: we don't run a server that stores your messages. Email goes straight to us and nowhere else.

To help us fix a bug quickly, please include:

• Your device and OS version (e.g. iPhone 15, iOS 18.2, or Pixel 8, Android 15)
• The Tax Moose app version, shown at the bottom of the Settings screen
• Which mode you were in (add tax or reverse) and the province selected
• The amount you entered, and what you expected to see
• A screenshot, if it helps show the problem

02 A rate looks wrong

Tax Moose covers all 13 provinces and territories, and we check the rates against canada.ca and the provincial authorities. Rates are stored with the date they took effect, so a rate change can reach you without waiting for an app update. If a province changes its rate, the app picks it up.

If a figure still looks off, email us the province and the rate you believe is correct (a link to the source helps a lot) and we'll fix it. Do double-check that the right province is selected first. It's set from your device region on first launch and can be changed any time from the province picker.

03 How reverse tax works

Reverse mode goes the other direction: enter a total that already includes tax, and Tax Moose works out the pre-tax amount along with each tax component: GST, PST, HST, or QST, depending on the province. It's the answer to "the receipt says $112.00, what was the price before tax?"

Reverse calculation is part of the free app. It is not a Pro feature and never will be.

04 What Pro includes

Tax Moose Pro is a one-time purchase of $4.99, not a subscription. There's nothing to cancel and no recurring charge.

It unlocks:

• Discounts: take a % or $ amount off before tax
• Margin: go from cost and target margin to selling price
• Itemized quotes: build a total from multiple line items
• Saved Quotes: name and keep quotes for later
• Recents: an optional log of your calculations, off by default

Everything else stays free: adding tax, reversing tax, all provinces and territories, English and French, and the tip calculator with per-person split. There are no ads in Tax Moose, free or Pro.

05 I bought Pro but it isn't unlocked

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases. Purchases are tied to the App Store or Google Play account you bought them with, so make sure you're signed in with that same account. This is the usual cause on a new phone or a second device.

Once restored, Pro works on your other devices at no extra charge. If it's still locked after restoring, email us and we'll sort it out.

06 Refunds

We don't process payments or issue refunds ourselves. Billing, refunds, and purchase restoration are handled entirely by the app store you bought through. For refund requests, see Apple's refund process or Google Play's refund policy.

07 Québec & French

Tax Moose is fully bilingual, and French isn't an afterthought. The whole interface is translated with the correct terminology (TPS, TVQ, TVH) and French number formatting, so a total reads 112,00 $ rather than $112.00. The app follows your device language.

For Québec, QST is calculated and shown as its own line alongside GST, so you can see both components rather than just a combined figure.

08 Offline, no account, no ads

Tax Moose works completely offline and never asks you to sign in. There's no account to create and no ads anywhere in the app.

Everything you type, including amounts, calculations, and any quotes you save, stays on your device. The only information that leaves it is anonymous usage statistics and crash diagnostics through Google's Firebase, which never include the amounts you enter, plus the purchase check that unlocks Pro (handled by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat). Our Privacy Policy has the full details.

09 Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything Tax Moose stored on your device, including saved quotes and recents. You can also clear Recents from within the app at any time.

For anything held by our analytics or purchase providers, email us at revenge_developer@protonmail.com and we'll submit deletion requests on your behalf. See the Privacy Policy for what those providers hold.

10 Is this tax advice?

No. Tax Moose is a convenience calculator, not accounting or tax advice. We work to keep rates current, but you should always verify figures with the Canada Revenue Agency and the relevant provincial or territorial authority before relying on them for filing, invoicing, or pricing.
